I’m excited to introduce a new release from Victor V. Gurbo, a Brooklyn-based roots revivalist musician who has captivated audiences at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). He was also voted Brooklyn Borough Champion in Battle of the Boroughs hosted by WNYC and WQXR.

His new album, Gurbo & Co. Live 2025, is a collection of eight live songs recorded at New York’s historic Cafe Wha? with his four-piece Americana backing band. This marks the first official full-band release on streaming services since 2017.

The album will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms on March 11, 2026, and will coincide with a performance at Brooklyn’s Littlefield. For your convenience, the tracks will be available to download at www.VictorVGurbo.com/Gurbo2025.

About Victor V. Gurbo:

Victor V. Gurbo is a musician and songwriter known for his evocative storytelling and deep-rooted folk influences. Blending Americana with poetic lyricism, Gurbo’s music explores themes of love and loss while capturing the essence of a bygone era. The Brooklyn Academy of Music described his sound as “a raw, bluesy, foot-stomping sound that’s both classic and contemporary.”

About Gurbo & Co. Live 2025:

Ever since Gurbo began playing his music, he has dreamed of performing at the historic venues where his idols first made their mark. In January 1961, a 19-year-old Bob Dylan began performing at the now-legendary Cafe Wha?. On November 6, 2025, Gurbo brought his band there to debut as part of a Village Presents event. The ensemble performed six original songs and two covers, which were recorded by Subterra Sound and filmed by Odd Brothers. The audio for the streaming release was carefully mixed and mastered by Mark Caserta of Drywall Studios, while video audio and editing were handled by Kenny Lee of AxxeAttack Studios.

The ensemble features Victor V. Gurbo on lead vocals, guitar, Omnichord, and harmonica; Mark Caserta on electric bass; Jason Laney on piano, organ, and backing vocals; Kenny Lee on lead electric guitar; and Evan Sanyour on drums and percussion. Ethan DiPietro of the Ethan DiPietro Trio guest-appeared on lead electric guitar for the final song of the night.
